~You’re Invited to a Special Screening~ “The Shot Felt Round the World”

As you may know, WQED and Steeltown Entertainment Project recently produced the film, “The Shot Felt Round The World” about Jonas Salk and his team at the University of Pittsburgh pulling together with our Pittsburgh community and the nation to conquer the most feared disease of the 20th century: polio.

On April 14, in commemoration of the 55th anniversary of the Salk vaccine being declared “safe, potent, and effective,” the University of Pittsburgh hosted the world premiere of this movie which features many who worked closely on the vaccine who have never before spoken on camera.    Dr. Jonathan Salk, one of the sons of Dr. Jonas Salk, called “The Shot Felt Round The World”:  “the best film I have ever seen on the polio vaccine and Pittsburgh’s seminal role in its creation.”

WQED and Steeltown Entertainment Project are pleased to host a special informal private screening:
