th Anniversary of the Associated Artists of Pittsburgh:

A TRADITION OF INNOVATION: The AAP @ the PTC

The Pittsburgh Technology Council’s 15 Minutes Gallery is currently seeking artists to participate in group show from February 2010 through April 2010.

DETAILS: The theme of the show is Innovation: How is your work innovative? How is your work exploring the frontiers of art and aesthetics? How are Pittsburgh artists at the leading edge of creativity and ingenuity? These are questions we would like to address in this upcoming exhibition.

ARTIST RECEPTION: The opening event is scheduled for Thursday, February 4, 2009.

SUBMISSIONS: Artwork in all media will be considered. New media encouraged, but not required. Four to six artists will be selected to showcase their recent work. Multiple pieces from each artist will be selected.

ELIGIBILITY: All members of the AAP in good standing are eligible for participation.

FEES: The entry fee of $25 [non-refundable check or money-order, payable to the Pittsburgh Technology Council] includes up to 5 artwork submissions; All works of art in the 15 Minutes Gallery can be for sale to the general public, with 75% of the proceeds returning to the artist.

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS: All entries should be submitted in on disc in electronic format, with a maximum of 10 MB each. No slides, printed reproductions or original pieces of artwork will be accepted for review. Each submission must be clearly labeled with its title and artist’s name. All submission materials become property of the Pittsburgh Technology Council. Submission materials will not be returned.

NOTIFICATION: Accepted participants will be notified via email or phone by January 8, 2010. A gallery/participant contract will be presented upon acceptance notification.

SPECIFICATIONS: Accepted work must be delivered to the gallery by Monday, January 25, 2010. All work must be delivered ready to display, including any accessories, electronics and/or hanging wires with museum quality framing or mounting. Many two-dimensional materials will be hung over glass, so all frames MUST BE WIRED for gallery system hooks. Advanced installation criteria must be executed by the participant in coordination with the gallery. The 15 Minutes Gallery will not be responsible for providing electronic equipment or executing installations. 2D artwork is limited in size to 70”x70.”

TO ENTER: Send a one-page resume, list/specs/prices of all submitted artwork and an artist statement for this show [in electronic format] to the address below. Include a $25 entry fee [payable to the Pittsburgh Technology Council] and up to 5 submissions, by December 7, 2009.
