G-20, Art & Innovation: A Trifecta of Transformation in Pittsburgh
Yesterday, you might have seen me [or been annoyed by me] incessantly Tweeting during the PTC’s event with Google CEO, Eric Schmidt.
As part of the many G-20 festivities in Pittsburgh, Schmidt inspired a crowd of hundreds with his vision of the future — a vision where the synergy of art and technology is virtually ubiquitous. “The innovative places are the creative, messy places,” said Schmidt and Audrey Russo, the fearless leader of Pittsburgh’s Tech Council. The crossover of creativity and technology is a cornerstone of Google’s success — a success that has revolutionized communication, and will continue to do so….and much more. And the fact that Google chose Pittsburgh as it’s satellite location says a lot about this region. Forget about that little stall we had a few decades back. We have a tradition of innovation, prosperity and creativity in this city — a spark that has been smoldering under the soot, and is igniting before our eyes. Watch out world, Pittsburgh is back.
